​September 5, 1960: Cassius Clay Wins Gold At The Summer Olympics

A charming 18-year-old Cassius Clay (later Muhammad Ali), stepped into Rome’s Olympic ring to face Poland’s Zbigniew Pietrzykowski. 

Clay is awarded the gold medal for his 1st place in the light heavyweight boxing competition at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome.
