WWI was a history-making moment in the lives of African Americans. What began as a superficially detached European conflict soon became a global even with serious implication on economics, social and political future of people.  The war directly affected all African Americans, both male and female, southerner and northerner, civilian and soldier. Racial violence, military service, migration and political unrest combined making the war era one of the most dynamic in the history.
