How can this be true if only approximately 4% of the population owned slaves???…hmmm. Also, did you know that out of the 15 million slaves that were transplanted, only about 6 percent, about 400,000, came here to the US? The rest went to South America. Now, if about 400,000 slaves are responsible for making this country what it is today, why couldn't the millions upon million of slaves headed to Brazil keep that country from being pretty much third world in many areas. Slaves are slaves right? Did american slaves have some special talent, or propensity to building things?? You need to answer that question for yourself. The logic simply doesn't work.
Another fact I will throw in about slavery. Did you know about 28 percent of free blacks owned slaves which is a greater number than whites at certain times? Here are a few names for you to Google, Anthony Johnson, Antoine Dubuclet and Justus Angel to name a few.
