I agree with you Cheri. I too am white woman and I study this time period because I want learn and make sure that history in my family does not repeat ever itself. From what I can tell my family owned a plantation but I am trying to search records. I am hopeful that maybe they did the work themselves as they had a large family of their own but the ugly truth of history has yet to reveal itself in my famiy. I pray that they did not own another human being.
This is my definition of the white slave owners :So who are psychopaths? Broadly speaking, they are people who use manipulation, violence and intimidation to control others and satisfy selfish needs. They can be intelligent and highly charismatic, but display a chronic inability to feel guilt, remorse or anxiety about any of their actions.
I am white and I am a advocate against child abuse! I am no longer a proud American and cannot believe that our fellow human beings were treated like animals! This makes me sad realizing this was not that long ago and is totally disgusting!! I cannot even imagine living during those times as a slave! Black people in my opinion are the strongest, both mentally and physically!! Remember abuse usually takes at least 4-5 generation to overcome! Amazing that so many survived! These are our true Americans and America is their country not ours!!

Anthony Bowen purchased his freedom for 425 dollars,which was a lot of money back then,so how can u say slaves were not paid? It is a common misconception that slaves weren't paid. Now if they exaggerate about that…what else r they exaggerating about? A LOT!!! They r not telling u the truth about slavery.
