Frank Embree was nineteen when he was accused of raping a 14-year-old white girl. Embree was from the state of Missouri, and black men convicted of rape of a white woman were sentenced to death by lynching.
Although he maintained that he was innocent, he was whipped over 100 times until he confessed to the crime, saying “he would own up,” if his captors would hang him or shoot him instead or torturing him. Outnumbered and handcuffed, Embree was slashed on his front and back side. He was paraded to his hanging in the nude. Embree was lynched without a trial on July 21, 1899.

I often wonder how much has changed since then.
When a black man is involved with a white women to day we find that as soon there is a legal issue the black man catches hell in courts in the media in every way.
