A black woman from Alexandria, Louisiana is in elite company as an entrepreneur who has earned her keep in the long-haul trucking industry.

Kristy Jackson (pictured) is the proud co-owner of October Fourth Holdings, LLC. This Houston, Texas-based trucking company offers freight logistics, assistance with long-distance moving, and supply transportation services for a variety of clients all across the U.S.

Along with her husband Kevin Muhammad, Jackson lords over a business empire that is affiliated with or consulted for a laundry list of high-powered companies. JP Morgan & Chase, Wells Fargo, IBM, Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Capital One are among the notable corporations on this list.

Even the White House has given honorable recognition to Jackson when the Obama Administration awarded her as a First Class Business and Development Coach. In 2012, Jackson was awarded as “Humanitarian of the Year” and has won other awards with her business as well.

She is one of the very few black trucking company owners in the state of Texas where her business is headquartered. Jackson is also the founder of the Woman CEO Project, an organization based on sound principles, which emphasize the empowerment of women in business.

This organization coordinates 40 major business courses every year. Jackson’s recipe for a successful marriage and thriving business is rooted in hard work, having a serious outlook, and exhibiting tireless dedication.

“There is no progression within comfort and you simply CANNOT quarterback from the sidelines or know the whole path without taking a step. This year, [my husband and I have]  decided to play no games.
We are growing our fleet,” Jackson posted in a 2019 Facebook message.

“We have a 5-year goal of how we’re going to do it. I’m really proud of us. This business requires A LOT and we are up for the challenge. I appreciate all of the well wishes and prayers,” she continued.

Congratulations to Kristy Jackson and her husband Kevin for exemplifying black excellence in love and business!
