It had nothing to do with the color of Our skin in Irish Slavery,It was more of us having a long History over 800yrs we have been battling with the English whom thought of us as animals barbaric in nature and ways cos we still held on to allot of our pagan traditions & still do today… But Celts/Native Irish were White –Plus even still today we're known as the Blacks of Europe it was purely Kill off what we don't like or ship them off and use them & Yes we were Slaves as in worked in the fields along side black folk ,shipped out by the thousands all over,to deny that and try claim all we were is endured purely says ya all ain't been taught truths just like not all truths have been spoken about on Black slavery…& even today You see it were Black folk doing their Dna and getting results of having Irish blood ,cos the masters mated their slaves for more profit those light tone slaves made more money..they even had to bring a law out against it cos it became so big and they were fighting and arguing among themselves over it…Ya all think the British used and abused Africans .Please read a Book on Irish History..I'm not trying to belittle Black slavery.merely stating that all history have cover ups and washing of truths
Those in the US of Irish ancestry are there cos their ancestors had to leave or were forced to ..Even how some American/Irish speak on the Famine like oh my great great great Gran or Grandad came here for a better life..Erm No! they went to the US cos they had no choice force of their land by the landlords probably being the last one left after watching all of their family die of hunger, and English landlords made deals with the ships to carry them over, going to a place were U have no home, you don't speak the language and that is really great? –It must have been fucking Hell on Earth-Just like it was for Blacks and Irish during Slavery being stripped down to ya very core of all you've ever known,ya life,culture,language,traditions..Its truly Horrible
Actually there were white slaves, but they had three advantages. 1) They volunteered…sort of. Prisoners were asked "do you want to work out in the sun or die in this dark dungeon." 2) White slaves were freed after seven years. The very first black slaves were also given this deal, but that did not last long. Slave owners got greedy. 3) White slaves were white. They could move and hide that they had once been slaves. Freed blacks were second-class citizens even when born free. Still that was a lot better than being a slave, working for no pay, getting whipped and having your children sold out from under you. The Revolutionary War meant Great Britain lost it's prison colony (so they moved it to Australia) so it is unlikely Lizzie Mae ever met a white slave.
Loved Lizzie Mae's definition of an Irishman!
I knew gays would take offense. The bottom line is gays have compared it to being black.
"Show me where you're branded" "Oh, right here!" *dying*

Reginald D. Hunter had a sketch in one of his shows where an Irish man tells him they are the black people of Europe.
yes yes Anglo-Saxons in the 18th century thought that Irish and other Celts were not white. very very illogical
