First African American Woman to Own a Men’s Professional Basketball Team and hold the titles of CEO and General Manager; Consultant to Sports Professionals and Sports Management Groups; Sports Agent; and 2008 Ebony Magazine Top 150 Most Influential African Americans.
Alexis Levi was born in Castro Valley, CA. She received her B.A. degree in Cal State Hayward and her MBA from Almeda University. Although she wears many important hats, including mother, registered nurse, entrepreneur, and former athlete; she is proud to be the first African American woman to own a professional basketball team, the Las Vegas Stars.
To prepare Levi for the challenge of being a woman and a leader in the male dominated world of sports, she sharpened her skills and gained more knowledge of the business of basketball with Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW), which allowed her the opportunity to become a Sports Agent Advisor. Affectionately referred to as “the female Jerry Maguire,” this headstrong, master negotiator reigns as queen.
