Ellis Walker Woods was the first principal of Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, OK.

Woods was born in 1885, he was the son of a freed slave from Mississippi. After completing his high school education, he attended Rust College at Holly Springs, Miss, and went on to attend Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Woods serves as principal of Booker T. Washington High School from 1913 until his death in 1948. Before his death, Woods worked tirelessly to help secure a bond election that raised $1.4 million to build the new Washington High School at 1631 E. Woodrow Place.
