At Black Then, we frequently see interesting photos that give us a glimpse into the past. They tend to show us a piece of black history that is often not covered in textbooks, in history classes, or shown in the media.
In a photo that we found on Black History Album , we see this great image called “African American Woman” . The picture shows a young African American woman seated with fur, feather boa, and feather hat. c.1890

I like to thank whom ever suggested this website of black American history. This knowledge is very insightful and necessary for me to know , being a black African American female myself. I must say while in high school , afro American history was not up for option, I had to choose world history and I got tired of learning about Magellen and all that jazz. I t wasn’t until after I graduated high school that I learned bits and pieces of afro American history such as we had black cowboys and that Columbus really is responsible for the discovey of America.. Wow!!!
