Patti LaBelle’s critically acclaimed LP titled Flame is the 13th studio album released by the legendary singer.

MCA Records put LaBelle’s record out on June 24, 1997. The album Flame is executive produced by LaBelle and includes song production from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, an iconic duo that has produced some of the best music ever heard from the R&B genre. They contributed to much of the songwriting and sonic backdrops on Flame.

Additional producers, such as Gerald Levert, Brenda Russell, and David Foster also contributed to LaBelle’s well-received project. The album includes the international success and number one dance song “When You Talk About Love,” as well as the R&B radio hit “Shoe Was on the Other Foot.”

The album is especially remarkable for having the ballad “Don’t Block the Blessings,” which is also the title of LaBelle’s best-selling autobiography, which was released a year before Flame.
