June 4, 1987: The Los Angeles Lakers shot a then-NBA Finals record 61.5 percent from the field, and Michael Cooper set what was then -Finals record by sinking six three-point field goals in a 141-122 victory over Boston in Game 2 of their championship series, which was eventually won by the Lakers in 6 games.

The Lakers field goal percentage remains the 2nd highest in Finals history, and Cooper’s 6 shots are tied for 2nd best in a Finals game.

Magic Johnson’s 20 assists were one shy of his own NBA Finals record, and the Lakers’ 44 assists tied the team single-game NBA Finals record set by another Lakers’ team on May 6, 1970.
