Black has always been beautiful. But it took 1971’s music program Soul Train, created by Don Cornelius, to open the eyes to Americans nationwide that the beauty of “blackness” came in all shades of color and sizes.
Black people had long accepted the skin they were in, but through “Soul Train” they could show the world the uniqueness, beauty, and pride that came with being black men and black women.
