RIP to Former Houston Oilers Wide Receiver Ken Burrough

A wide receiver with the National Football League, Ken Othell Burrough was a Black American professional football player who played for most of his career with the Houston Oilers.

The New Orleans Saints of the National Football League originally selected him as the tenth overall choice in the first round. Burrough attended William M. Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida — where he was a track athlete and quarterback for the football team.

He went to Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, where he was a wide receiver for the Tigers. In 1969, he was named to the All-American football team. In 2016, Burrough was inducted into the National Black College Football Hall of Fame by the National Black College Football Foundation.

At the age of 73-years-old, he passed away on February 24, 2022, in Jacksonville, Florida, where he had lived for many years.
