A&E to Air Four-Part Docuseries Based on the Life and Times of James Brown

The A&E Network has approved a new four-part docuseries celebrating James Brown’s private and public life.

According to Vibe Magazine, “James Brown: Say It Loud” is a documentary event that will take an in-depth look at Brown’s complicated life and powerful, dominating career as America’s Godfather of Soul.

Additionally, it will include never-before-seen archive material and special insight from friends, partners, and protégés. The series, which is set to air on A&E in May 2023, will be directed by Deborah Riley Draper. It will be executive produced by a slew of prominent personalities in the music and documentary worlds.

Among them are Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Peter Afterman, Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter, Shawn Gee, and Mick Jagger.
