The NAACP has named three additional classifications for the 54th NAACP Image Awards.

Acknowledged as America’s premier cultural celebration program, which prioritizes African-American viewpoints, the 54th NAACP Image Awards aim to maintain a standard of greatness by promoting virtues, which stimulate inclusivity, unity, and social progress, as well as showcasing creators who are dedicated to this mission as well.

Until November 18, 2022, submissions may be entered at www.naacpimageawards.net inside the classifications of film, television/streaming, recording, books, and podcasting. Added category areas for submissions consist of:

Outstanding Hairstyling, Outstanding Makeup, and Outstanding Costume Design for Television and Streaming

Outstanding Hairstyling, Outstanding Makeup, and Outstanding Costume Design in a Film

Creations submitted will not be accepted if they come from a production that was issued before and recognized in an annual period from the past (i.e. a rebroadcast performance, a performance in a available movie getting rebroadcast, or a remix of a song or album from a past year or re-issue of a published book). Historic works that have been rebroadcast or reissued are also ineligible.

Important deadlines for the 54th NAACP Image Awards are as follows:

Friday, November 18 – Deadline for online submissions

Thursday, January 12 –   Award candidates are named and digital voting opens to the public.

Friday, February 10 – End of public voting

The panel will not consider any creative projects, which were not submitted. Submissions must be contributed in accordance with deadlines. Representatives of the NAACP Image Awards Nominating Committees carefully consider each entry and select the leading five within every set of categories.

These special decision-making boards are made up of professionals working in show business (studio/network executives, actors, artists, managers, agents, publicists, journalists, literary agents, etc.), NAACP Board members, NAACP Foundation Trustees, staff, affiliates, as well as additional stakeholders.

Interested parties may browse the authorized NAACP Image Awards homepage at http://www.naacpimageawards.net to find out more up-to-date details and current reports.
