At the age of five, pianist Norman Malone was already showing extraordinary skills at the piano, he was a natural when it came to playing. What one would not expect was at the age of ten, his father would attack him with a hammer to the head, leaving him fighting for his life and later paralyzed on his right side. He grew up with an abusive father and that tragic night, not only was Malone left fighting for his life but his brothers as well.
After surviving the attempt on his life, Malone began a lifelong quest to reclaim his place at the piano. He mastered the most difficult music which was ever written for the left hand alone. Malone did not share his story until he was 78 to the Chicago Tribune.
